In 1965, he and his rock band, The Wild Ones, were the first to record the rock standard "Wild Thing", written by Chip Taylor (actor 'Jon Voight''s brother). As a discotheque band named "The Wild Ones", "Wild Thing" was intended to be their signature song. A year later, it became a multi-million seller for The Troggs.
