Patrick Horgan (born 5 May 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays as a full-forward for the Cork senior team.Born in Blackpool, Cork, Horgan first excelled at hurling whilst at school in the North Monastery. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 2008 National Hurling League. Horgan has since gone on to play a key part for Cork as one of the team's top scorers and has won one Munster medal. He has been an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion.As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team for two years, Horgan has won one Railway Cup medal. At club level he plays with Glen Rovers.
As well as recording many talking books for the blind, including the entire Sherlock Holmes canon, he is the author of "The Detection of Sherlock Holmes", which proposes links between the stories and Celtic bardic legends. He has also played Sherlock Holmes on stage.
