Jay Woodcroft (born August 11, 1976) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He is currently an assistant coach with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL).In July 2008, the San Jose Sharks hired Woodcroft as an assistant coach under head coach Todd McLellan.
Played hockey at the University of Alabama at Huntsville for 4 years from 1996-2000 before he started his pro hockey career for the Jackson Bandits of the ECHL during the 1999-2000 season

Had his best year playing for the Flint Generals of the UHL during the 2002-2003 season before ending his pro hockey career for the Corpus Christi Rayz of the Central Hockey League in 2004
