Franklin MM White is a Canadian public health scientist-scholar-practitioner. His main contributions are in capacity building for international and global public health education, research and development. An exponent of field epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation, notable career highlights include: former President, Canadian Public Health Association 1986-88; Director, Caribbean Epidemiology Centre 1989-95; Medal of Honor recipient 1997, Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO); Chair, Community Health Sciences, Aga Khan University 1998-2003; founder (2003-), Pacific Health & Development Sciences Inc., and as of 2013, adjunct professor at Dalhousie University and University of Victoria.
