Quote
1
I like sci-fi because it's really one of the last places or genres that has clearly defined good and evil, and it's a place where you can have heroes without them having to be overly flawed.

Fact
1
Don who hails from Missouri never lost his southern accent throughout his long acting career. It seems odd that he only accepted or was offered very few western genre roles. Only 2 to be exact!.
2
Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, including a double major in theatre and art from Southwest Missouri State College in 1965. Graduated with an MA in Theatre from Southern Illinois University in 1970. Taught for ten years at the University of British Columbia, then completed his PhD in theatre at SIU in 1982.
3
His hobbies included painting, drawing and woodcarving.
4
Was paid a posthumous tribute by the makers of "Stargate Atlantis" by having a new starship named for his character, General Hammond, who also died unexpectedly.
5
His last appearance as "Gen. Hammond" was in Stargate: Continuum (2008), which was released in the US a month after his death.
6
He was the only person to have an actual military service record on Stargate SG-1 (1997).
7
In one year (1991), appeared in two different productions in which a game of chess was played where humans are used for game pieces and if captured, they would be killed: Twin Peaks (1990) and the "All the King's Horses" episode of "Monkey Planet" (2000).
8
Graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
9
Son of MT Davis.
10
Appeared in episodes of two different series entitled "Crossroads": The Sentinel (1996) and Stargate SG-1 (1997). There is also an episode of the latter series entitled "The Sentinel".
11
Although Peter Williams was the main recurring guest star on Stargate SG-1 (1997) for four years, he and Davis only shared a scene in three episodes: "Children of the Gods", "Serpent's Song" and "Point of View".
Among his most important guest-appearances for TV was the part of Captain William Scully, Dana Scully's father, on The X-Files (1993).
19
Was also a skilled artist and wood craftsman.
20
A former captain in the US Army, stationed in Korea in the later 1960s.
21
Worked with Richard Dean Anderson before the Stargate SG-1 (1997) series; he was Dana Elcar's body double on MacGyver (1985) and played roles as a cement truck driver and illegal hunter Wyatt Porter. Before his untimely death one month later, his final appearance was with Rick in Stargate: Continuum (2008).
