Arild Nyquist (1937–2004) was a Norwegian novelist, lyricist, writer of children's books and musician. He was born in Oslo, the son of Gerd Nyquist. His father-in-law was Olav Mosebekk. He made his literary debut in 1963 with the novel Ringer i et sommervann.Nyquist was awarded Mads Wiel Nygaards Endowment in 1971. He was nominated for the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 1994 for the self-biographic novel Ungdom.
