Big John Hamilton was an American vocalist. He is known as a singer of Southern Soul music. Hamilton lived in Florida. He made eight solo records (45s) as well as duets with Doris Allen (singer). They sang a version of Buddy Miles' Them Changes for Florida's Minaret Records label between 1967 and 1970. Sundazed Records released a Compact Disc in 2006 of his music titled How Much Can a Man Take, the name of the title song from 1968.
Was in Jackie Chans first international film Battle Creek Brawl.

In his autobiography (McFarland 2001), James Arness said the first public appearance he made after beginning Gunsmoke was for a close friend Big John Hamilton. The appearance was at a Texas charity event called "The Milk Bowl" which was a youth football game. Arness mentioned Hamilton's San Antonio restaurant Big John's Steakhouse and said Hamilton remained a pal for years.
