Jean Delay (14 November 1907, Bayonne - 29 May 1987, Paris) was a French psychiatrist, neurologist and writer, a member of the Académie française (Chair 17). He discovered, jointly with J. M. Harl and Pierre Deniker, who was also a French psychiatrist, that a high dose of chlorpromazine produced a considerable reduction in the agitation and aggression of those patients with symptoms of schizophrenia.
