Keiji Nakazawa was born on March 14, 1939 in Hiroshima, Japan. He was a writer and producer, known for Barefoot Gen (1983), Kuroi ni Ame Utarete (1984) and Barefoot Gen 2 (1986). He died on December 19, 2012 in Hiroshima.
Survivor of the nuclear attack of Hiroshima, Japan. He claims to have seen the Enola Gay flying far overhead, and was nearly blinded by the flash of the explosion, which he described as "like a million flash bulbs going off at once". He credits his survival with a brick wall collapsing on top of him during the blast.
