1Although he was often thought of as British, he was actually born in Brooklyn. He did make many trips to Britain because his father, Charles George Parker, was the American representative of an English company.
2In her biography Gloria Swanson said, "My next director was a rather eccentric Englishman named Albert Parker. We made two pictures together, and there was no way on earth I could dislike him. He was too much fun. He was an excellent director with fine taste".
3He became a talent scout for Fox in the early 1930s. Future Oscar winner James Dunn was a Parker discovery.
4Left directing to start a theatrical agency in the mid-'30s. One of his first clients was James Mason. Among other clients represented by Parker's British agency over the years were Susannah York, Glynis Johns, Robert Newton and Trevor Howard.
