Buster Douglas Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018

At that time, Tyson was regarded as the best fighter on the planet plus among the very feared heavyweight champions in history on account of his complete domination of the office. Douglas held the title for eight months and fourteen days, losing on October 25, 1990, to 28-year old, 6-foot-2-inch, 208-pound Evander Holyfield, via third-round KO, in his only title shield.

Douglas made his debut on May 31, 1981 and conquered Dan O’Malley in a four round fight. He won his first five fights before coming right into a fight with David Bey twenty pounds heavier than he normally did in his early fights. Bey knocked Douglas out in the next round to give him his first defeat. After six more battles, all triumphs, Douglas fought Steffen Tangstad into a draw on October 16, 1982. He was penalized two points throughout the length of the fight which proved to be the difference. Following the draw Douglas went to defeat mostly journeyman boxers during another fourteen months. In his last fight of 1983 Douglas was controlling competitor Mike White, and then lose the fight when White knocked him out in the ninth round. On November 9, Douglas was scheduled to fight heavyweight competition Trevor Berbick in Vegas. Douglas got the better of the former heavyweight competition by winning a majority decision. The following year he fought up and coming rival Jesse Ferguson, but was defeated by majority decision. This earned him a shot in the International Boxing Federation tournament that Michael Spinks was stripped of for refusing to protect it. Douglas failed to perform well against Tony Tucker and was knocked out in ten rounds. Following the Tucker defeat Douglas won four successive fights and went to fight Trevor Berbick in 1989, winning by a unanimous decision. He followed that up using a unanimous decision victory over future heavyweight champ Oliver McCall, and earned a shot in the undisputed heavyweight tournament held by Mike Tyson, who became the universally accepted champion after knocking out Spinks in one round in 1988. (Douglas fought on the under-card of the event and got the better of Mike Williams by TKO in seven rounds.)

I have also read that much of his money came from investing in real estate in Columbus, Ohio.
