Merna Kennedy was born on September 7, 1908 in Kankakee, Illinois, USA as Maude Kahler. She was an actress, known for The Circus (1928), Red-Haired Alibi (1932) and The Big Chance (1933). She was married to Forrest Brayton and Busby Berkeley. She died on December 20, 1944 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Silent screen actress, a child performer in vaudeville from the age of seven, performing in a song and dance act with her brother. On the prompting of her friend Lita Grey, chosen by Charles Chaplin as his leading lady for The Circus (1928). Retired from acting in 1934 to marry choreographer/director Busby Berkeley. Died ten years later of a heart attack, aged just 36.
