John Kahn (June 13, 1947 - May 30, 1996) was an American rock and roll bass guitarist. For a period of about twenty five years Kahn was Jerry Garcia's principal collaborator outside of the Grateful Dead.
Respected session musician and producer of the late 60s and early 70s. Worked with the likes of Al Kooper and Michael Bloomfield.

Was the bass player for the Jerry Garcia Band and was Jerry Garcia's bass player for around 25 years working on most of Garcia's solo work away from the Grateful Dead.
