Lonny Price (born March 9, 1959) is an American actor, writer, and director, primarily in theatre. He is perhaps best known for his creation of the role of Charley Kringas in the Broadway musical Merrily We Roll Along. Eventually he moved into primarily directing for the stage and is now known for making statements on current events in versions of his musicals. His acclaimed May 2008 New York Philharmonic production of Camelot was making a statement about the current war including having different ethnicities and modernized characters. Mr. Price stated this in an interview before Camelot opened.
In 2007, he directed the Roundabout Theatre Co. Broadway revival of "110 In The Shade", starring Audra MacDonald and Steve Kazee. [2007]

Directed Leonard Bernstein's Candide for the New York Philharmonic. Once again he teamed up with Patti LuPone by casting her as The Old Lady. Also starred: Kristin Chenoweth, Paul Groves, Sir Thomas Allen, the Westminster Symphonic Choir, students of The Juilliard School, and other actors from Broadway. Ran May 5-8, 2004. [May 2004]

Linda Kline and Lonny Price were both nominated for the 2001 Tony Award (New York City) for the Author (Book) of the Musical for "A Class Act".
4
Co-wrote the book to, directed, and starred in the musical "A Class Act". The show is about the life of Edward Kleban, who Mr. Price plays. Kleban was the lyricist of "A Chorus Line" who wanted very much to write the music and lyrics to a Broadway show. Kleban never achieved his dream and died of lung cancer.
