Charles Edward Russell (1860 – 1941) was an American journalist, opinion columnist, newspaper editor, and political activist. The author of a number of books of biography and social commentary, in 1928 he won a Pulitzer Prize for The American Orchestra and Theodore Thomas. Russell is also remembered as one of three co-founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
