DeMarcus helped begin contemporary Christian music group East to West and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1992. They engineered the record together, and became English’s back-up band. The record was nominated for the Dove Award for Inspirational Song of the Entire Year. As well as producing for English, he’s also made records for James Otto, Jo Dee Messina, Austins Bridge among others. He made the 2006 release for the group Chicago titled, Chicago XXX. He shortly became bandleader for Chely Wright. Eventually, he met Joe Don who’s now the group’s other member. DeMarcus called Joe Don to fill in to get a guitarist who’d left the group one night. In the episode titled “Unshockable” (10.14), he’s electro-shocked by his bass guitar during a performance at a Vegas nightclub, leaving him with complete amnesia. DeMarcus has continued to investigate his performing career, appearing in the picture A Country Christmas, along with episodes of ABC’s Nashville and Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva.
