Joseph Hyungmin Son (Korean: ???; born November 22, 1970), commonly known as Joe Son, is a South Korean mixed martial arts fighter and manager, actor, and convicted felon. He is currently serving life without the possibility of parole for rape and torture, and has stood trial for murder.
As of September 2011, sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of torture of a 19-year old woman in 1990. By the time the criminal trial occurred, the statute of limitation for rape had elapsed, therefore the original charge was changed to torture instead. Son's co-defendant, Santiago Lopez Gaitan, pleaded guilty in January, and was sentenced to 17 years and 4 months in prison.

In October 2008, his DNA sample was matched against an unsolved rape from 1990. Due to the seriousness of the crime, he faces up to a 275 year sentence. On 24 August 2011, he was convicted of torture in the rape case. The rape charges had exceeded the statute of limitations and could not be brought to trial.

Was arrested in Los Angeles in May 2008. Plead guilty to felony vandalism. As part of his plea agreement, Joe had to submit a DNA sample.
