#Fact
He co-wrote The Ticking Man with Brian Helgeland, an unproduced spec script which was sold for $1.2m in 1990 at the height of the spec script boom.
Took over as showrunner of "Star Trek: Enterprise" starting with season 4, when creators/executive producers Rick Berman & Brannon Braga stepped back a little bit. His writing successes in season 3 and his experience in the day-to-day production routine of producing a sci-fi show (ref. "Odyssey 5") made him the perfect candidate to become new head writer.
During the third season he was mainly responsible for further constructing the Xindi story arc which he based on experiences from his cancelled show "Odyssey 5" (2002) (ref. lone crew, saving mankind, Earth destroyed/attacked etc.). When showrunner Brannon Braga retired in 2004, he took over as showrunner.
A Trek newcomer, he was brought into the third season of "Enterprise" (2001) to help tighten up the writing. So far, he seems quite successful, bringing much (needed) energy into the third season. Of the current prominent writing staff (Rick Berman, Brannon Braga, Chris Black, Mike Sussman, Andre Bormanis) he only seems to lose to Sussman, who wrote more winners.
