Marva Whitney (born Marva Ann Manning, May 1, 1944 – December 22, 2012), was an American funk singer. Whitney was considered by many funk enthusiasts to be one of the "rawest" and "brassiest" music divas.
She began singing professionally as a member of the Manning Gospel Singers. She also sang with the Alma Whitney Singers and an R&B group, Tommy & the Derby's.

She was a singer in the James Brown Revue, and a solo artist on his label King Records. She had her own featured segment during the shows, and sang duets with Mr. Brown.
