Tate is rated fourteenth on “Hit Parader’s” list of the 100 Best Metal Vocalists Ever. The group embarked on an “Operation: Mindcrime Anniversary Tour” on April 6, 2013, observing the record’s 25th anniversary. Mostly touring the American Southwest. The tour is scheduled to keep through to September 2014 with several breaks, among others with Tate touring with his solo group in May 2014. Included in the settlement agreement, Tate may continue to playing with this particular lineup, as he’s granted the exclusive rights to execute Operation: Mindcrime and Operation: Mindcrime II in their entirety as an original performance, although not underneath the name Queensrche. Tate, nevertheless, will not perceive this to be a similar group establishing as the one he used to have with Queensrche before the 2012 schism, saying: “I do not ever need to be in a group again. I have already done that. I would like to work with different groups of people. And I would like to always be shifting it up to allow it to be intriguing and distinct. And I would like to play with as many great players as I possibly can.”

I sure feel sorry for a band like Guns and Roses. Their success came so quickly that they barely had time to adjust to it... All that sudden fame will be unbearable... I would much rather be rich than famous.

During a 2001 Queensryche concert, a fan, as a joke, requested that Tate sing the theme song from The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Tate did so, garnering surprisingly raucous cheers. The song then became a regular feature during the band's concerts until Tate's departure eleven years later.
Queensryche's 1988 album "Operation: Mindcrime" came 2nd in Classic Rock Magazine's list of the 30 greatest concept albums of all time. [March 2003]
