Colin Milton Thiele AC (/?ti??li?/; 16 November 1920 – 4 September 2006) was an Australian author and educator. He was renowned for his award-winning children's fiction, most notably the novels Storm Boy, Blue Fin, the Sun on the Stubble series, and February Dragon.
He was awarded the A.C. (Companion of the Order of Australia) on June 6, 1977 and the Australian Centenary Medal on January 1, 2001 for his services to Australia.

Was employed as an English teacher and wrote poetry on the side but became best known for his novels directed for young people.
