Veronica Elizabeth "Ronnie" Mitchell (previously Branning) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Samantha Womack. She and her sister Roxy (played by Rita Simons) were introduced by executive producer Diederick Santer in July 2007. Ronnie is the "ice" to Roxy's "fire". As an extension to the already established Mitchell family, Ronnie quickly became a prominent character, taking over the nightclub. and forming a relationship with her business partner, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen). Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) and Sharon Rickman (Letitia Dean) describe her as a psychopath.Womack left the series on 7 July 2011. In 2013, Ronnie returned to screens on 9 September, but Womack took another 2 month break from the show in January 2014, alongside her co-star, Rita Simons. From March until June 2014, Womack continued her role as Ronnie, and will make a permanent return to the show in August.
