One evening when Chand and Rakesh were sitting and drinking tharra, Rakesh told him that Bohra Brothers had asked me to direct a film for them. Chand told Rakesh that he should not take up the offer because he feared that he would be stamped for life as a stunt filmmaker like Chand and advised Rakesh to wait till he got a bigger break. Rakesh was glad he waited and took up Prakash Mehra's offer to be assistant to him in Aan Baan as a second assistant. Rakesh went on to assist him in films including Haath Ki Safai.
