Massimo Pupillo (January 7, 1929 - ) is an Italian film director.Pupillo is best known for his work as a horror film director in the 1960s and 1970s. His three most famous horror films were all made in 1965. He directed Terror-Creatures from the Grave (aka "Five Graves For A Medium") in 1965 which starred Barbara Steele. Pupillo also directed two other horror films that same year, Bloody Pit of Horror (starring Mickey Hargitay) and "The Revenge of Lady Morgan".
After completing the direction of his horror film Terror-Creatures from the Grave (1965), he was unsatisfied with the final result, and allowed the film's producer, Ralph Zucker, to take the director's credit instead. This has led people to confuse Pupillo and Zucker for one another, and when Zucker died in 1982, some thought that Pupillo had died, which is incorrect.
