Claudio Camaso was born as Claudio Volonté. He is known for his work on A Bay of Blood (1971), Vengeance (1968) and Wake Up and Die (1966). He was married to Verena Baer Volonté. He died on September 16, 1977 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
On the evening of the 26th of July 1977, he mortally stabbed Vincenzo Mazza during a quarrel in Campo de' Fiori, in Rome. Then he made himself scarce and only ten days later (on the 5th of August) he gave himself up to the police. During his detention while awaiting trial, on the early morning of the 16th of September 1977, he hanged himself in his cell in 'Regina Coeli' prison, in Rome. He was thirty-seven years old.
