Shashi moved to New York and took his first acting class at the age of 27. He had previously owned two Bar/Restaurants in Antigua. "Shooters" at Pari's and "Shooters" in town. He also ran his family's retail business, and his own showroom for high end resort furniture and lighting. He also worked in sales and marketing for New York based Satco Lighting and developed their presence throughout the Caribbean and in South America.
