Terry McMillan (born October 18, 1951, in Port Huron, Michigan) is an American writer. Her work is distinguished by relatable female protagonists. McMillan’s first novel, “Mama”, was printed in 1987. She reached national attention in 1992 with her third novel, “Waiting to Exhale”, which stayed on “The New York Times” bestseller list for a lot of months.
