Howard Post (November 2, 1926 – May 21, 2010), aka Howie Post, was an American animator, cartoonist and comic strip and comic book writer-artist.Post is known for his syndicated newspaper comic strip The Dropouts which had a 13-year run and for creating DC Comics' Anthro.
Animator, comic strip illustrator, storyboard writer and producer Post was trained at the Hastings School of Animation in New York City and began as an in-betweener at Famous Studios, earning $24 a week. He succeeded Seymour Kneitel as president of the Paramount Animation Studio between 1964 and 1966. He was then replaced by Shamus Culhane.
