James Rennie was born on April 18, 1890 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as James Malachi Rennie. He was an actor, known for Now, Voyager (1942), Illicit (1931) and Wilson (1944). He was married to Sara Eldon McConnell and Dorothy Gish. He died on July 31, 1965 in New York City, New York, USA.
Canadian-born leading man of the silent screen, the son of a Mormon minister. In the 1920's, he divided his time between acting on Broadway and appearing in Hollywood films for Paramount. His career declined to small character roles after the advent of sound and he retired from acting in the mid-1940's.
