Joseph Pevney was born on September 15, 1911 in New York City, New York, USA. He was a director and actor, known for Star Trek (1966), Tammy and the Bachelor (1957) and Man of a Thousand Faces (1957). He was married to Margo Pevney, Philippa Pevney and Mitzi Green. He died on May 18, 2008 in Palm Desert, California, USA.
After World War II he acted with Paul Muni's Los Angeles-based "Key Largo" troupe. On screen from 1946, he almost invariably appeared in films noir, his first as a piano-playing killer in Nocturne (1946).
