Teresa Stich-Randall was born on December 24, 1927 in New Hartford, Connecticut, USA. She is known for her work on Don Giovanni (1960), Toscanini: The Television Concerts, Vol. 5 - Verdi: Aida (1949) and König der Manege (1954). She died on July 17, 2007 in Vienna, Austria.
At the age of 19, she was hired by legendary conductor Arturo Toscanini, who praised her as "the find of the century", to perform with the NBC Symphony Orchestra. She made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera (New York) in 1961 in Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte".

In 1963, she became the first American to be named a Kammersangerin - "chamber singer" - an honor reserved for Austria's most respected artists. She performed regularly at the Salzburg Festival and the Vienna State Opera, retiring in 1972.
