Stan Shaw (born July 14, 1952) is an American actor. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he is the son of Bertha Shaw and saxophonist Eddie Shaw, and cousin of the late soul singers Sam Cooke and Tyrone Davis Brother of Vaan Shaw (guitarist/wolfgang). Shaw started his acting career in the Chicago production of the Broadway musical Hair as well as the Broadway production of The Me Nobody Knows. His last Broadway show, Via Galactica was directed by Sir Peter Hall.
Has a first degree black belt in judo and jujitsu and a second degree black belt in karate.

On June 1, 2000, he was sentenced to three years probation for child support evasion. His son lives with his mother, Serdina White, in Las Vegas. Stan lives in Studio City, Californa.

Coincidence? Stan Shaw played a professional fighter in Snake Eyes (1998), Tough Enough (1983) and Harlem Nights (1989), and also appeared in Rocky (1976), and portrayed boxing legend Joe Louis in the TV movie "The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson".

Before becoming an actor, Stan was a Karate Judo and Ju Jitsu instructor in Chicago.
