Geoffrey John Atherden, AM, is an Australian television writer, especially of comedy. He wrote the sitcoms Mother and Son and Grass Roots and the mockumentary BabaKiueria, and was a contributor to The Aunty Jack Show.He attended the University of Sydney in the 1960s.
He was awarded the A.M. (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 2009 Queen's New Year's Honours List for his services to the television industry as a scriptwriter, and to the advancement of writers for performance through executive roles with professional organizations.
