Richard Angas was born on April 18, 1942 in Esher, Surrey, England as Richard George Angas. He was an actor, known for The Yeomen of the Guard (1975), The Mikado (1973) and The Mikado (1987). He was married to Rosanne Creffield. He died on August 20, 2013 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
He made his professional debut in the role of Lodovico in Otello for Scottish Opera in 1966.

As a youth, he sang in church, and appeared at festivals organized by the Royal School of Church Music. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music. He took second prize in the Kathleen Ferrier competition in 1964, and won the Richard Tauber prize the following year before spending a year at the Vienna State Academy.
