Was indirectly responsible for the inclusion of Bill Haley and the Comets' "Rock Around the Clock" in Blackboard Jungle (1955). Director Richard Brooks was visiting Peter's father Glenn Ford, who starred in Blackboard Jungle (1955) at Ford's home, and heard the nine year old Peter playing the record. Brooks liked it and featured it prominently in the film.

Struck with crippling arthritis at age 21 that initally left him bedridden. For years, he was unable to walk under his own power. Then, one day in 1972, the pain left him, and he remains completely free of the illness. He credits this to his mother's prayers that the pain stop.
