Peyton Hayslip (born January 7, 1966) is an American actress.Realizing as a child that she wanted to be an actress, she ultimately received her training as an actress at the Juilliard School in NYC, the Dallas Theater Center, the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and privately, from the late Martin Jurow (producer of Breakfast at Tiffany's and The Pink Panther). While she has enjoyed performances regionally, Peyton has been especially active in the Austin and Dallas, Texas radio, television, film and theater communities. She has enjoyed roles in numerous films (studio and independent), documentaries, TV programs, anime, and print projects including, most recently, the Austin School of Film production Picturebook, Gabriel Folse's Guilty, Asif Kapadia's The Return, and Jonathan Levine's All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. Hayslip has been lauded as one of the Top 40 Actors in Austin (Austin Chronicle) and is represented by Acclaim Talent.For more than a decade and a half, Peyton has also been a director, assistant director, and producer on numerous productions regionally. She is the co-founder of thistlemouse productions which produces plays and performances for children and families. These productions have been seen by tens of thousands of school children all across Texas.A seventh-generation Texan, Hayslip wrote and starred in the one-woman show Kate James: Portrait of a Texas Pioneer. Based on the diaries of her great-great-great grandmother, Kate James, Hayslip humorously and informatively reveals life on the frontier as a settler in Texas in 1855. This touring production allows Texas history to come alive as audiences experience a time when dinner was grown or trapped, clothes made from scratch, a 12-mile trip took all day, and the nation fought a horrendous Civil War. The production has proven perfect for Texas History studies, for museums as a slice of living history, and for women's studies as it addresses the role of women during a pivotal time in our country's history, 1851-1931.In 2007, Hayslip was honored to be nominated as one of the 10 International Outstanding Women in Film and Music by the Myspace Association of Outstanding Women in Film and Music.Hayslip lives in Dallas, Texas, with her daughters, Kitty Stuart and Tiger Darrow.

Peyton's daughter, Tiger Darrow wrote, directed, and edited the short film Mp3. Tiger cast her mom as "The Diva", her sister, Kitty Stuart as the lead role of "Katie", and Garry Peters as "The Director". Mp3 was a family affair, with Tiger's grandparents sharing co-producing duties, and an uncle and aunt appearing as extras. The film won Best Youth Film at the 2007 Foursite Film Festival in Ogden, Utah.
