Fritz Gunter Sachs (14 November 1932 – 7 May 2011) was a German photographer, author, industrialist, and latterly head of an institute that researched claims of astrology. As a young man he became a sportsman, then gained international fame as a documentary film-maker and documentary photographer. He was interested in astrology and its connection with mathematics and statistics.
His 2008 photo exhibition "Die Kunst ist weiblich..." (Art is Female) in Leipzig attracted more than 65,000 visitors and had to be extended.

In a statement released by his family at his request, Sachs said he chose to end his life after concluding that he was suffering from an incurable degenerative disease affecting his memory and ability to communicate. [8 May 2011].
The German media consider him the country's last real "playboy".

Son and heir of Willy Sachs, proprietor of Fichtel & Sachs motor works, he is one of the 100 richest men in Germany.

Rolf Sachs is the son of his first marriage, to Anne-Marie Faure, who died during an operation in 1958. He has two sons, Christian and Claus Alexander, from his third marriage, to model Mirja Larsson (Mirja Sachs).

A former bobsleigh champion, he has been an exhibited photographer for 40 years and is now an enthusiast for astrology, author of "Akte Astrologie".
