Gemma McCluskie was born on February 5, 1983 in Shoreditch, London, England as Gemma Rose V. McCluskie. She was an actress, known for EastEnders (1985) and No Sweat (1997). She died on March 1, 2012 in Bethnal Green, London.
Daughter of Pauline McCarthy (b. c.1956 - d. 2013) and Anthony McCluskie.

Her brother Tony McCluskie was found guilty of her murder on 30 January 2013 and jailed for life with a minimum sentence of 20 years. Her death was caused by being struck several times over the head with a blunt instrument.

Her funeral was held on 30 November 2012 at St. Monica's Church, Hoxton Square, East London eight months after her headless body was found and was interred at the City of London Cemetery.

McCluskie went missing from her Bethnal Green, east London home on the 1 March 2012. Former EastEnders actresses Martine McCutcheon and Brooke Kinsella tweeted about her disappearance in hope of getting information about her whereabouts. The actress Natalie Cassidy also raised awareness of her disappearance. The headless and limbless torso of a woman was recovered from Regent's Canal near Broadway Market in Hackney, east London on 6 March 2012 and was later confirmed to be the body of McCluskie. On 10 September 2012, her head was found in the same stretch of canal.
