Geethu Mohandas was born in 1981 in Kannur, Kerala, India as Gayathridas Mohandas. She is an actress and writer, known for Naalu Pennungal (2007), Akale (2004) and Thakarachenda (2007).
Tied with Kavya Madhavan for the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performances in Syamaprasad's Akale (2004), and Pradeep Nair's "Oridam".

Won the Kerala State Award for Best Child Artiste for her role in Onnu Muthal Poojaym Vare (1986), in which the wide-eyed five year-old girl stole the audiences' heart.

Child artiste turned Malayalam film heroine. When director Fazil came to know that she was in Kerala for vacations, he approached her with his offer of a role in Life Is Beautiful (2000), which ended up relaunching her career.

After attending primary classes in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Geethu moved to Canada with her family. During her school days, she won many prizes for painting. Studied Acting at Toronto University.
