Graduated from the University of Southern California in Architecture, Johnny followed his passion in publishing & design and started his own studio doing creative projects in 1990. From the beginning, Johnny has decided that he would get involved in cross-disciplinary projects of various art and design forms. He was involved in a range of projects usually in the role of creative director or co-producers, working with McDonalds, Seven Eleven and Singapore government agencies such as Ministry of Information, Communications & the Arts.Johnny was appointed the Creative Director of Gallery Hotel, Singapore since 2004 until it was sold in 2013. He was instrumental in art directing its successful range of art calendars that has been popular with its guests. Johnny also initiated a creative exchange program involving youth talents from the Pacific Asia region, residing at the hotel for weeks to re-create the design of the hotel rooms. In 2009, he co-produced HP Space- a reality TV show together with Hong Kong's Star TV. The eight weeks program was shown to a 20 million viewers in the Asia region with overwhelming response.He is currently drawing a weekly comics strip for Zaobao's student paper- Thumbs Up for a straight third year. The strip has been compiled into a book and is slated to be produced as a TV show in 2014.Johnny has also been co-organizing regional events for organization such as the Asia-Europe Foundation and is currently working with Ashoka Foundation from Washington D.C.Starting from 1990, Johnny has founded close to a dozen startups in the area of publishing, retail, distribution and licensing. His most recent involvement is in a musical production company base in Shanghai.
