Muriel King (1900–1977) was an American fashion designer based in New York. She was one of the first American fashion designers along with Elizabeth Hawes and Clare Potter to achieve name recognition. She also designed costumes for several major films in the 1930s and 1940s.
Costume designer, briefly at RKO in 1936 and 1944. Studied art at the University of Washington. Worked on theatrical costume designs, and simultaneously in magazine illustration for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. In France from 1927, illustrating French Vogue and Femina. Opened own salon in New York in 1932, specialising in interchangeable day-to-evening wardrobes. Retired in 1957.
