Afleet Alex (born May 9, 2002 in Florida) is an American thoroughbred race horse who, in 2005, won two of America's classic races, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes. He is owned by the Cash Is King Stable partnership, was trained by Tim Ritchey and was ridden by Jeremy Rose.

In the Preakness Stakes on 21 May 2005, at the top of the homestretch, one of his front hoofs clipped the rear hoof of another horse, causing Alex to stumble badly. He regained his footing and won the race by 4¾ lengths. This performance by "Alex the Great" was ranked #12 in TV Guide's list of the "25 Most Awesome Sports Moments (of the last 15 years)".
