Maura Jo West DeFreitas (born Maura Snyder on April 27, 1972) is an American actress, best known for her 15-year portrayal as Carly Tenney on the CBS daytime soap opera As the World Turns. Since the series finale in 2010, she has also held roles as Diane Jenkins on The Young and the Restless (2010–11), and currently portrays mob princess Ava Jerome on General Hospital.
Is mother to five children: Benjamin Crawford West Knight, Joseph Peter DeFreitas, Basil John DeFreitas, Katherine Marie DeFreitas, and Birdie West DeFreitas.
