# Fact 1 American second feature director, who started working on shorts for Paramount. In 1929 he co-directed The Marx Brothers in their first feature, The Cocoanuts (1929). Except for spells with RKO (1936-38) and Universal (1938-39), Santley spent virtually his entire career working for Poverty Row studios like Republic, Monogram and Mascot, turning out B-musicals and comedies. 2 Began as a child actor in vaudeville, billed as "The World's Greatest Boy Actor". First on the legitimate stage in New York in 1906, starring in the title role of "Billy the Kid".
