Alex Holzwarth was born on 4 October 1968 in Landshut, Germany and is a professional drummer, and current member of Italian symphonic power metal band Rhapsody of Fire.He is the brother of the band's bass guitarist Oliver Holzwarth. He is also a former member of Avantasia, a former live member of Blind Guardian, and the current bassist for Italian symphonic power metal band Rhapsody of Fire.
He had long hair during the recording of "Dawn of victory", but cut it during the recording of the next album, which fooled most of the fans to believe that Rhapsody had a new drummer.
