Irving Stone was born on July 14, 1903 in San Francisco, California, USA as Irvin Tenenbaum. He was a writer, known for Lust for Life (1956), The Agony and the Ecstasy (1965) and The President's Lady (1953). He was married to Jean Factor and Lona Mosk. He died on August 26, 1989 in Los Angeles, California.
American historical novelist, author of well-researched fictionalisations of historical personae. His recurring motif is that of the artist (Van Gogh, Michelangelo) as tortured, unappreciated romantic.
