Tim Matthews (born 4 April 1976, Oxfordshire, England) is an English actor who began his career in Fuente Ovejuna at the National Theatre in London and after several other stage jobs found his first television appearance in a supporting role in the premiere episode of Five Children and It in 1991.From 2001 till 2007 he played the role of "Liam McGuire" in 53 episodes of Doctors.In HBO's Band of Brothers he portrayed Alex Penkala in seven episodes.
He is a talented singer and highly skilled guitar player. He started singing in the church choir at an early age and has played guitar for over 15 years. He has recently returned to his first love by writing all of the music and lyrics for his first album, "Somebody Else" to be released in the fall of 2007.

He auditioned several times for a featured actor role in the critically acclaimed and internationally award winning mini-series, "Band of Brothers" including one with Oscar winner Tom Hanks.
