Aud Egede-Nissen was born on May 30, 1893 in Bergen, Norway. She was an actress and producer, known for Dr. Mabuse: The Gambler (1922), Phantom (1922) and Schneeschuhbanditen (1928). She was married to Paul Richter and Georg Alexander. She died on November 15, 1974 in Oslo, Norway.

When she met the director Björn Björnsson in 1913 she played in her first movie called "Scenens born - Wenn die Liebe spricht" (1913). After that she went to Germany and became soon a demanded actress for the German silent movies.

Together with her husband and actor Georg Alexander she founded her own film company which produced besides an Aud-Egede-Nissen serial also a Gerd-Egede-Nissen and a Ada-van-Ehlers serial. Ada van Ehlers impersonated the first female detective.
