Joel Steven Siegel (July 7, 1943 – June 29, 2007) was a American film critic for the ABC morning news show Good Morning America for over twenty-five years.The winner of multiple Emmy Awards, Siegel also worked as a radio disc jockey and an advertising copywriter.Siegel died of complications from colon cancer on June 29, 2007, in New York.

His final top ten list for movies had been in 2006 where he chose the following movies: 1.) Borat, 2.) Charlotte's Web, 3.) Dreamgirls, 4.) The Departed, 5.) Little Miss Sunshine, 6.) Letters From Iwo Jima, 7.) Pan's Labyrinth, 8.) United 93, 9.) Volver and 10.) The Queen. Even though he didn't declare which film was the best picture of the year, he considered Letters from Iwo Jima to be a perfect film.
Moved to New York City in 1972 and joined WCBS as a reporter. Worked on WCBS News Radio doing movie reviews and segments on the history of New York City.
Graduated from UCLA and has worked as a radio newscaster, Los Angeles Times book reviewer, freelance writer for publications, and entertainment critic.

Early on he worked with Terry Gilliam, in his pre-Monty Python days. Together they published a book, "The Cocktail People" (Siegel did the writing, and Gilliam the illustrations. Then when Siegel got a job at an advertising company, he took Gilliam with him, who lasted there 11 months.

Was a joke writer for U.S. politician Robert F. Kennedy. Was the director of the voter registration drive for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Macon, Georgia in 1965.
