The exposure from Panorama led to Povich getting news anchor jobs at stations in nyc, Chicago, la, San Francisco, and Philadelphia. In September 1991 The Maury Povich Show was started. His show was nationwide syndicated and broadcast by Paramount Television though a partnership with Povich’s generation firm, MoPo Productions. In 1998 the show was renamed Maury after GE overtook creation of the show. The show has veered into the world of tabloid television. Maury’s show regularly features girls seeking paternity tests to establish the authenticity of parenthood to dads in question.

Maury Povich has been wed to new anchor Connie Chung since 1984. They will have two daughters, Susan and Amy Povich.
